Rashad Moore – The Journey of a Polymath

From the earliest chapters of his narrative, Rashad Moore’s true north has been to champion others at scale—equipping them to defy conventions, clarify their vision, and navigate formidable hurdles. He sees technology as the great emancipator and empowerment as its force multiplier. When he champions an idea, its potential blossoms, reaching communities he could never touch alone. That ethos extends to the people behind the ideas: empower an individual, and they move with a renewed momentum, lifting their teams, delighting customers, energizing communities, and turning promising ideas into enduring impact.

The foundation of this journey was laid at Oklahoma State University, where Rashad earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1999. His formative years were defined as much by camaraderie and leadership as by coursework. As a leader in the National Society of Black Engineers, he helped build community and visibility for engineers of color and spearheaded the organization’s digital transition at the dawn of the internet, amplifying NSBE’s impact through transformative technology.

Rashad continued at Johns Hopkins University, earning dual master’s degrees in Computer Science and in Information Systems and Technology. There he immersed himself in machine learning and AI, preparing not merely to follow but to lead the technological shifts reshaping the future.

“When you can be anything in the world… be helpful.”

His academic grounding led to pioneering roles at LocalEyes, AOL/Time Warner, and MITRE. More than a coder, he reimagined revenue streams, simplified user experiences, and modeled pricing behaviors to deliver value. He progressed from technologist to government contractor and into leadership, coordinating 200+ professionals across multifaceted divisions.

Entrepreneurship soon called. In 2007, Rashad founded Software Theoretic, an applied research and engineering firm. The team forged new paths in AI, cloud computing, and data analytics—work that led to the company’s acquisition by RGS and affirmed Rashad’s capacity to build, scale, and exit.

In the third score of his life, Rashad chose to build platforms that serve and scale with the needs of real people. That choice became Score 3, a family of initiatives created to defend dreams and deliver outcomes. Through Score 3 Ventures, he backs builders and owners with hands-on capital and operational wisdom, helping founders move from spark to scale and create real value and real jobs. Through Score 3 Partners, he keeps treasured works in conversation with fresh perspectives, honoring legacy while ushering in the next generation of stories that leave audiences seen, challenged, and changed. And through Galvanize, he organizes courage at scale, bringing together donors, doers, and mentors to launch and grow the projects their communities need, linking financial, social, and knowledge capital so worthy ideas do not stall for lack of access.

Together, these efforts form a flywheel: ventures that hire and thrive, stories that shape culture, and communities that mobilize resources with purpose. This is the work Rashad is committed to—building institutions that endure and creating conditions where more people can point to something lasting and say, “We built that.”
